U.S. Job Seekers Exceed Openings By Record Ratio
This news I found in New York Times is totally relevant to us. According to the article, it shows that job seekers now outnumber openings six to one, and it has been the worst ratio since 2000. On the other hand, according to the Labor Department's latest numbers, from July, only 2.4 million full-time permanent jobs were open, with 14.5 million people officially unemployed. However, it has continued for a long time. Although many economists think that the global economy is recovering now, the unemployment rate is still rising. It dose not happen just in the U.S. Almost every country has this serious problem. For many companies, the standard of job opening becomes more and more strict. In my opinion, the problem of unemployment is not east to solve in a short time. However, we probably will face this problem soon. The best way we can do is increasing our professinal skills. More professional skills you have, more job opportunities you will have. In addition, we can't set the standard too high when we look for jobs. If we set the standard too high, it will make us too difficult to find jobs.

This kind of news makes me nervous for when I have to start job searchinG!
ReplyDeleteAlso, the number of employees has decreased significantly, up to 7,6 million unemployed people in the US since December, 2007. I think this number tells us the whole story, and it still is going down, not as fast as we have experienced in particularly in 2007 and 2008, but it is still on the edge, and that means employees are too.
ReplyDeleteTherefore, from this point of view, I believe that increasing your qualifications with additional education, certificates, and skills including social, communication would be helpful to those who are looking for a job.
